This is old news by now, but there may still be people out there who have not yet heard the unfortunate news that ABC decided not to give the law-themed spin-off The Good Lawyer the go-ahead. This was announced back in November 2023 by several news outlets after ABC made it public.

Possibly not what most people wanna hear, but I have mixed feelings about this episode. I wanted to love it unconditionally, and all things considered I liked it a lot, but there were just so many reality check blunders that I found it too hard to fully suspend disbelief. Let’s hope they do better for subsequent episodes, hoping that we get them.

The first announcement about ABC producing a The Good Doctor spinoff titled The Good Lawyer was made back in August last year, in which we were given some cursory information about the overall premise and the two main characters.
